Josh & Jennifer // Alabama wedding

I met Jennifer eight years ago. Eight years. We were both in Dallas for a discipleship conference (she was on staff, I was an attendee), and what was a teacher-student relationships quickly moved into a deep friendship. We’ve kept in touch over the years, some years more than others, but enough for me to absolutely freak out with excitement when I found out she was engaged. We talked about her story, about her love, and about her wedding… and eventually decided that the only possible option for wedding her photography would be me. So I flew to Birmingham, Alabama, stayed in her sister’s bedroom, went shopping for sparklers at a fireworks warehouse with Joshua, the groom, and felt absolutely at home with her family and friends. An idea wedding weekend? In every possible way.

Jennifer’s sister works at Studio Red, and did most of the bridemaids’ hair herself.

I love that Jen went with a long veil. Sooooooo perfectly dramatic!!

This is, perhaps, the bridal shot that I am most proud of. I love how you can see every tiny detail in her dress and veil.

Jen is a strong, confident woman. I love this about her. I also love that, when she’s with Josh, he makes her feel safe and protected. Sweetest thing ever.
