once in a blue moon…

Friday night was a blue moon. Like, a legitimate “blue moon.” A blue moon happens when a full moon is seen twice in one calendar month. The last one occurred December 31, 2009. The next one won’t take place until July, 2015. So Friday night was just slightly significant. And it just so happened that I was a a friends’ rehearsal dinner, across the river from my beloved city, and in perfect view of some significant buildings. It is certainly not the best picture I’ve ever taken, or the best shot of the moon I’ve ever taken (I had a rehearsal dinner lens, not a moon-shooting lens. don’t judge too harshly), but it’ll do, I suppose. =) Ampersand Photography, East Coast, East Coast wedding photographer, East Coast wedding photography, photography business, Sarah Danaher, Washington DC wedding, Washington DC wedding photographer, Washington DC wedding photography, wedding photography, wedding, wedding photographer, blue moon,

This past weekend was also a “blue moon” event for me, personally. I attended a friends’ wedding— as a guest. I had a name card and table assignment. I wore a pretty silk dress and left my camera at home. I danced every single song (and I’m still nursing blisters on my feet. true story). I did photo booth pictures, twice. I got teary when the bride walked down the aisle, I laughed with friends, I stepped in front of the camera a few times… it felt strange and good at the same time. Who knows when it will happen again— just once in a “blue moon.”

If you quit photography go into poetry please. This picture is lovely..as is your heart. Glad I ‘made’ you put down the camera for a weekend :)

Spectacular! Beautiful! Amazing! WOW!

What a (all of the above) picture! You could probably sell that one in a gallery or to a magazine. Or just frame it and hang it on your wall.

Glad to hear you had a fun time at the wedding.
