One of the things I most love about the wedding industry is the supportive comradeship I’m blessed to enjoy with others in my field. It’s like having coworkers in a remote office— we’re all friends, all working toward the same goal (helping couples have their perfect wedding day), maybe accomplishing that in slightly different ways, and occasionally dealing with a bit of friendly competition, but for the most part, I’ve found that other wedding photographers, planners, florists, caterers, videographers, and venue owners are the same as me— we love love, and we love helping couples love each other well on their wedding day.
I love second shooting for this reason. I get to hang out with my friends (other awesome photographers), take pretty pictures of pretty things, and enjoy lovely weddings while helping out another photographer. One such friend/photographer is Tori Watson of Marvelous Things Photography, based in Richmond, Virginia. I shot Peter & Karilee‘s wedding with her last year. These are just a few of my favorites from that day.
